POLIBIOL FRUIT STATION
Polibiol Fruit Station
The Polibiol station has four complete colonies of bumblebees, Bombus terrestris, with their respective queens and workers, which are being developed for establishment in outdoor crops, especially those where we need to ensure the presence of pollinators during the flowering period to ensure the optimal pollination.
The Polibiol station is recommended for fruit trees such as Apricots, Almonds, Blueberries, Cherries, Plums, Peaches, Apples and Pears, especially early varieties in which bee pollination during the winter and part of the spring is insufficient, as they are more sensitive to low temperatures, low light, presence of wind, etc., which significantly reduces their activity, unlike Bombus terrestris, much more active and effective in these conditions.
The new Polibiol station has designed to improve the maintenance of colonies even in adverse environmental conditions, as the high degree of protection and ventilation allows the hive activity not to be reduced by the weather.
By installing the Polibiol station, you will ensure a higher fruit set, even in adverse conditions, as Bombus terrestris pollinates at a temperature 2 °C less than the bee and its operating time is longer, in addition to guaranteeing the permanence of the colony in the crop as there is no pollinator loss to other neighboring crops, as is the case with bees .
Recommendations
Install 2 - 3 Polibiol stations per hectare of crop.
Introduce all the hives at the same time at the beginning of the flowering period (recommended time is with 5% open flower)
Ask for a regular distribution of the stations in the field.< br>Place the hive horizontally in a well-ventilated place, preferably in a shaded location and about 50 cm high.
Do not open the hive until 1 hour after placing it in its final position in the field.
Do not close the hive hive more than four consecutive days.
